AXA: A Paradigm Shift in Office Space Design

Juan Carlos Baumgartner's Innovative Approach to Corporate Interiors

AXA, a global leader in insurance, revolutionizes its office space under the creative direction of renowned designer Juan Carlos Baumgartner. The new design reflects a commitment to employee wellbeing, collaboration, and innovation, setting a new standard for corporate interiors.

Juan Carlos Baumgartner, a visionary in architectural design, was inspired by the evolving dynamics of the modern workplace. Recognizing the shift towards strategic environments that foster creativity and collaboration, Baumgartner sought to create a space that would attract, retain, and develop talent within AXA. The result is a unique office space that not only reflects the company's identity but also promotes a sense of community and wellbeing among its employees.

The AXA office space is a testament to the company's commitment to societal benefits. The design incorporates elements that echo AXA's focus on risk management, quality healthcare, and natural disaster prevention. The office design is a physical embodiment of AXA's core values, showcasing the company's dedication to equal partnership and flexibility of change.

The office space, spanning 23,000 sqm, features unique design elements such as diffuse light cabinets shaped like an 'X', representing the company's name. These are strategically placed in meeting points, accompanied by decorative lamps that emit warm light, creating comfortable environments. The overall design, from carpets to panels and furniture, creates an energizing atmosphere, enhancing the work experience.

The project, which began in August 2015 and concluded in June 2016, was carried out in Felix Cuevas, Mexico City. The design team, led by Baumgartner, included Jimena Fernández Navarra, Javier Gutiérrez Payro, Marcos Aguilar Flores, Triana Garcia Velez, Estefania Cortes, Angel Trujillo, and Enrique Martinez. The team faced the challenge of creating an innovative, fresh, and contemporary image that would promote new ways of working while prioritizing employee wellbeing.

The AXA office design has been recognized for its innovation and excellence, winning the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019. The award is a testament to the design's remarkable technical characteristics, artistic skill, and the positive feelings it evokes. The AXA office space is more than just a workplace; it's a unique life experience that reflects the company's commitment to its employees and society.
